Your phone's display is 16:9 aspect ratio. Instagram uses 4:5 for vertical posts. Financial analysts use the P/E ratio (Price÷Earnings) to decide if a stock is overvalued. Pharmacists use mg:kg body-weight ratios for safe drug dosing.

Cross-multiplication shortcut: a/b = c/d → a×d = b×c. This unlocks all proportion problems in one step. No need to find the constant of proportionality separately.

Partnership problems: A invests ₹3000 for 5 months, B invests ₹4000 for 6 months. Profit ratio = (3000×5):(4000×6) = 15000:24000 = 5:8. This is compound ratio!

Mixture & Alligation: Uses inverse ratio to find in what ratio to mix two solutions. Heavy tested in Bank PO and SSC.
