Statistics summarises and interprets data. The three "M"s of central tendency:
Mean = sum/n (sensitive to outliers). Median = middle value (robust). Mode = most frequent.
Spread: range = max − min; variance = average squared deviation from the mean; standard deviation = √variance.
Normal distribution (bell curve): ~68% of data within 1σ, 95% within 2σ, 99.7% within 3σ. Used in IQ scores, heights, exam grades.
